This model was discontinued in 2009, and they are getting scarce and collectible. Very good oiled walnut grips w/ silver eagle medallions. Has a very light cylinder turn line and slight high point thinning most noticeable at muzzle.
Box has slightly scuffed on edges but is not broken. Revolver had the following custom work done by Sams Custom Gunworks in Cartersville, Virginia: Complete Action Job-2 ½ lb. Accessories include a factory matching-numbered two-piece black and red box, customer portion of warranty card & two spare nipples. Ruger Blackhawk 41 Mag w Brass Birds Head Grip Frame Description: Ruger Blackhawk, 4 5/8 barrel, 41 magnum caliber, manufactured in 1988. Brass frames factory fitted to some Blackhawks, Super Blackhawks & Old Army Models per Dougan’s Book on Rugers that purportedly lists all brass frames as fitted by Ruger, this one was not listed. Manufactured in 1972 (1st year) with blued grip frame that apparently was later replaced at the factory with a factory Dragoon style brass frame marked MR-3DB having same profile as frame used on Super Blackhawks.
Barrel is standard 7-1/2″ with ramped blade front sight & frame-mounted adjustable rear sight. (It has no “Before Using Gun – Read Warnings in Instruction manual…” rollmark.) Factory black box with matching number. Desirable first-year “Pre-warning” production. 44 percussion revolver, blued steel and brass frame.
